Immigration Reporting

Reporting to the Immigration Bureau (IB) is the most important legal obligation for foreigners residing in Thailand long-term. This reporting consists of two main parts: Notification of Residence (90 days) and Request for Extension of Stay (Visa Extension).

1. Notification of Residence Obligation (90-Day Reporting)

According to Section 37(5) of the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979), foreigners permitted to stay temporarily in the Kingdom (over 90 days) must report their residence to an Immigration Officer every 90 days.

90-Day Reporting Channel (For Non-O-A):

1. Submit in person/with authorization: at the Provincial Immigration Office or at the Immigration Checkpoint responsible for Thap Sakae District (e.g., Singkhon Immigration Checkpoint).
2. Submit by Mail: Send required documents via registered mail.
3. Online System: Complete the process through the Immigration Bureau's online system (if eligible and the system is stable).

2. Annual Extension of Stay

Annual extension of stay is the process of visa renewal to ensure continued validity of residence in Thailand according to the conditions of each visa type:

Important documents required for an extension of stay (summary):

- Valid financial evidence that meets the criteria for each visa type.
- Valid health insurance policy.
- Proof of residence (e.g., a long-term lease agreement from a program).
